I. General Information
These Terms and Conditions apply to access and participation in the DreamKeep Rewards Program (“DreamKeep Rewards” or “Program”), which is operated by American Family Mutual Insurance Company S.I., (collectively, “American Family”) in the State of Illinois and State of Nebraska.
American Family may amend or modify these Program Terms and Conditions at any time, and continued participation in DreamKeep Rewards constitutes acceptance by the participating DreamKeep Rewards Member (“Member”) of these Terms and Conditions and any such amendments or modifications. Program Members are responsible for reviewing, understanding, and abiding by these Terms and Conditions and any such changes.
Program Eligibility: Participation in the Program is open to American Family customers and non-customers. To be eligible, individuals must:
- Possess an active American Family My Account username/password or have successfully completed the American Family My Account setup (including T&Cs and email opt-in) if they do not yet have a valid My Account username/password.
- Be legal residents of the State of Illinois or State of Nebraska.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Not have been previously terminated from the Program by American Family due to fraud, abuse, or use of the program not as intended by American Family.
- Not be a corporation, organization or legal entity.
By participating in the Program, a member represents that he or she meets these membership criteria.
Households: For purposes of these Terms and Conditions, an “American Family Household” is defined as Program eligible individuals who reside at the same residential address. A “Loyalty Household” is defined as one or more individuals within an American Family Household who enroll as Members in DreamKeep Rewards. Loyalty Households can either share or not share a Loyalty Group. A “Loyalty Group” is defined as one or more individuals in a household who enroll as Members in DreamKeep Rewards, create a “Group,” and invite other members in the same American Family Household to join that group. Groups are limited to five adults 18 years of age or older per household.
American Family, at its sole discretion, determines which individuals constitute an American Family Household, and American Family may combine or separate American Family Households, Loyalty Households, and/or Loyalty Groups, or separate individuals into multiple American Family Households, Loyalty Households, and/or Loyalty Groups at any time.
Loyalty Group Creation, Earning and Redeeming: Loyalty Groups are created by the first member (referred to as group leader) to initiate an invitation to other American Family Household members to join the Loyalty Group. American Family Household members invited can accept the invitation to become a member of the Loyalty Group. Members of a Loyalty Household may also elect to participate in the program as individual Members, rather than forming a Loyalty Group. Members will be able to create, join and leave a Loyalty Group at any time. Any member of the Loyalty Group may redeem all of the Group’s points and 100% of points earned by any group member are included in the Loyalty Group points.
Loyalty Group Leaders must remain eligible in the program; otherwise, the Loyalty Group will be disbanded. If a member belongs to a household and is part of a loyalty group, and the member account is suspended, the other members of the Loyalty Group will not be able to redeem the points earned by the suspended member.
If a Member who is not the Loyalty Group Leader leaves the Loyalty Group voluntarily, Member will reclaim his/her individual points balance. The individual points earned by that Member will be removed from the Loyalty Group points balance.
Membership Identification: DreamKeep Rewards Members will have a membership ID, which is located on the Profile Settings page. Members will utilize their My Account log-in credentials to access the DreamKeep Rewards website.
Verification: Each potential Member may be required to prove eligibility, including, without limitation, proof of age and residence within three (3) days of being requested to do so. In the event of non-compliance by a potential Member, if he/she is found to be ineligible or if he/she cannot or does not comply with these Terms and Conditions, such potential Member shall be disqualified and all privileges otherwise due as a Member may be terminated.
III. Earning Points
Points are earned at a Member level. Points accrue and are redeemed either at an individual Member level or at a Loyalty Group level.
Program Members may earn points in DreamKeep Rewards in many ways, including the following:
- Hold an eligible American Family Insurance policy or policies
- Be a customer of American Family for a period of time
- On the anniversary of your birth
- Complete a Qualifying Activity included in the Activity Catalog:
- Proactive Protection and Dream-Inspiring Activities
- Dream Out Loud Activity
- Monthly Offer Activity completion: Bonus Points
- Connect Facebook and/or Twitter social media account(s) to their DreamKeep Rewards account
- Redeem a Reward included in the Reward Catalog
- Refer a friend who then successfully enrolls in the DreamKeep Rewards program
- Member Feedback Survey completion
Hold an Eligible American Family Insurance Policy or Policies
A Loyalty Household earns points for each eligible policy (“Policy Points”). An Eligible Policy meets the following criteria:
- Is an active American Family personal insurance policy. An active policy is defined as a policy in good standing, providing insurance coverage on behalf of a Member.
- Has at least one Active Member in one of the following roles on the policy: policyholder, named insured, additional insured, owner, co-owner, or additional owner. An “Active Member” is a Member whose membership account is not inactive, cancelled or closed as described in Section V below.
- Is one of the following policy types: Auto, Motorcycles, Homeowners, Renters, Personal Umbrella, Boat, and Recreational Vehicle. Commercial policies are not eligible.
- The policy covers risks located in the State of Illinois and State of Nebraska.
If an Eligible Policy has named insured individuals as Members in two separate American Family Households, only one of the corresponding Loyalty Households will receive points, as determined by the first named insured who joined the Program.
Policy Points will be initially awarded within 24 hours of Enrollment. The number of points awarded for each policy type varies and is published on the DreamKeep Rewards website and on each subsequent anniversary of the oldest qualifying policy.
Be a Customer of American Family for a Period of Time
For each year as an American Family household, a Loyalty Household with qualifying policies is eligible to earn “Anniversary Points”. For the purpose of calculating Anniversary Points, “Anniversary” is defined as the total number of years that has elapsed since the oldest start date on any qualifying policy for any individual in the American Family Household (the “Anniversary Date”).
It is the Member’s responsibility to notify American Family promptly of any error in American Family’s calculation of an anniversary. American Family is not responsible for any errors in its calculation of Anniversary Points, and is not liable to reimburse Membership Households for any discrepancies between the number of Tenure Points awarded and the number of Tenure Points that should have been awarded.
Complete a Qualifying Activity included in the Activity Catalog:
Program Members and Loyalty Groups will earn points for completing Qualifying Activities. A “Qualifying Activity” is an action or task predefined by American Family, which is eligible to earn points upon completion and successful validation.
Activity attributes may vary by Qualifying Activity. The attributes for each Qualifying Activity can be found on the DreamKeep Rewards website. These attributes include:
- The number of points awarded for completion
- The time frame in which a Qualifying Activity may be completed
- Whether or not the Qualifying Activity may be completed once within the permitted time frame by (a) every Member within a Loyalty Household or (b) only once per Loyalty Household
- How to complete the Qualifying Activity
- How to verify completion of the Qualifying Activity
Some activities may only be completed by one Member of an American Family Group, and they will then no longer be available to the remaining Members for completion. Other activities can be completed by an individual Member, regardless of whether another member of his/her American Family Group has completed that activity. American Family will modify the list of available Qualifying Activities on a regular basis.
Program Members will be provided with a catalog of Qualifying Activities during any given month from which to choose. Members will have the ability to choose the activities to complete. There is a limit of 10 activities a Member can complete in any given month.
The Dream Out Loud Activity is displayed and accessed from the Home Page only. It is not located on the Activity Catalog and is not considered part of the 10 allotted activities limitation per month, but members will receive points for the first time completed. Members will be able to complete this activity initially and then can “edit” his/her dream at any time in the future. Editing a Dream will not earn points and is not considered an activity. A dream may be “edited” from the Home Page.
Monthly Offer Activity completion: Bonus Points
From time to time, DreamKeep Rewards offers additional opportunities for Loyalty Members to earn points (“Monthly Offer Activity completion: Bonus Points”). The terms for each Monthly Offer may vary, and are provided when the Monthly Offer is presented to the qualifying Member or Loyalty Group.
On a monthly basis, Program Members will be presented with a limited time “Monthly Offer”. Types of Monthly Offers may include:
- Free Reward (i.e., the Member will receive a designated Monthly Offer Reward without any deductions from their overall points balance)
- Discounted Reward (e.g., a points-earned Reward previously advertised for 100 points may be reduced to 50 points)
- Free Bonus Points
In order to redeem the respective monthly offer, Members must successfully complete and submit a survey provided by American Family Insurance. This will be communicated to the Member on the homepage, as well as the Monthly Offer Detail Page.
Upon receipt of a Monthly Offer Reward (i.e., Free Reward or Discounted Reward), Members must either a) redeem the Reward immediately or b) save the Reward to their Reward Catalog. If the Member saves the Reward to his or her Reward Catalog, he/she has until the expiration date to redeem; otherwise, the Reward expires. The Free Bonus Points Monthly Offer Reward will be automatically added to the Member’s points balance upon Monthly Offer completion.
Connecting social media accounts from the website
If a Member connects their Facebook and/or Twitter account(s) with the DreamKeep Rewards program they will earn points. If they disconnect the social media account(s), no points will be deducted from their DreamKeep Rewards account balance; they will not get additional points if they reconnect to social media at a later date.
Redeeming a Reward included in the Reward Catalog
Members will receive points for redeeming a Reward. This applies to all Rewards included on the Reward Catalog, but not to Monthly Offer Rewards. Some rewards are not available in all states.
Successfully Refer a Friend to the DreamKeep Rewards Program
Program Members will also receive points for successfully “Referring a Friend” to the DreamKeep Rewards program.
Upon Enrollment, each referrer will be assigned a Unique Referral Code. The referrer will only be awarded points if the referee enters the referrer’s respective Unique Referral Code and successfully completes the My Account and Enrollment processes.
Member Feedback Survey completion
From time to time, DreamKeep Rewards offers additional opportunities for Loyalty Members to earn points. The number of points awarded upon completion is at the sole discretion of American Family. The terms for each Member Feedback Survey may vary, and are provided when the Member Feedback Survey is presented to the qualifying Member or Loyalty Group. American Family, at its sole discretion, may determine which Members and Loyalty Groups are eligible to participate in any given Member Feedback Survey.
IV. Redeeming Points
If a Program Member is not part of a Loyalty Group, points will be redeemed at the individual level. If a Program Member is part of a Loyalty Group, points must be redeemed at the Group level. Any member of the group may redeem the group’s points without gaining permission from other group members. American Family Insurance is not responsible or liable for household disputes regarding eligibility of Members of a Loyalty Group to redeem points from their respective Loyalty Group’s consolidated points balance.
Points may be redeemed for products and experiences (“Rewards”) from the online Reward Catalog page on the DreamKeep Rewards website. The number of points required varies by Reward and is displayed at time of redemption. Although Members can view all Reward details, Rewards will not become active for redemption unless a Member has enough points to redeem. Reward-specific Terms and Conditions will stipulate whether the tax and shipping and handling fees are required or if a credit card is required. Return and exchange policies are also subject to the Reward-specific Terms & Conditions. Point redemption values are subject to change at American Family’s sole discretion, and all Rewards are subject to promotional availability. American Family may add or remove Rewards as redemption options at any time. Rewards are subject to promotional availability, and American Family reserves the right to substitute a reward of equal or greater value.
Upon the redemption of points, Rewards may be fulfilled as physical merchandise mailed to the Loyalty Household address or a shipping address within the Continental U.S. (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) explicitly provided by the address on the Member’s American Family My Account. Select Rewards may not be delivered to P.O., A.P.O. or F.P.O. addresses. Once the order has been placed, the address cannot be changed.
Digital Rewards will be fulfilled real time to the Member upon redemption and Digital Reward codes will be stored in the Member’s Reward History on the DreamKeep Rewards website.
Reward Policies vary by reward and are subject to individual Reward Terms & Conditions.
Any member questions regarding rewards and/or points may be directed to the American Family Insurance DreamKeep Rewards Member Reward Center. Member may call 1-844-YOU-KEEP (1-844-968-5337) ext. 1, to speak with a representative.
Points have no cash value and are not transferable, transferable for sale or resale, or redeemable for cash.
Some Rewards are provided by partners, and American Family provides only the access and the technical platform for Members to redeem awards directly from those partners. American Family will not become party to any transaction between a Member and a Loyalty partner. Consequently, American Family requires Members to check and agree to the separate Terms and Conditions of the partner prior to redeeming any award. Partner may share details of Member’s Reward redemption and Member contact information with American Family.
As a condition of obtaining rewards from these partners, Members agree to abide to such separate Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to, rules and restrictions on availability, shipment and delivery terms, etc.
V. Points Expiration:

Should Member wish to reactivate the Loyalty Household account that has lapsed due to inactivity, he/she must join the program again. In the event that a Loyalty Household Account is reactivated under this section, the account will begin with a zero balance of reward points, and points previously earned but forfeited remain forfeited.
A member may deactivate his/her DreamKeep Rewards account on the Profile Settings section of the DreamKeep Rewards portal. A member may reactivate his/her account within 30 days of deactivation by contacting American Family Insurance customer service. After 30 days of deactivation, all program benefits, including all accrued points, will immediately be forfeited upon deactivation.
